PMC Foundation

The PMC Foundation serves as the philanthropic arm of Pikeville Medical Center, supporting key service lines including the Heart & Vascular Institute, Appalachian Valley Autism (AVA) Center, Lawson Cancer Center and the Mettu Children’s Hospital. I focused on building awareness, strengthening donor relationships and driving fundraising through integrated marketing campaigns, storytelling and high-impact events.

My Role: I led the PMC Foundation’s marketing and communications efforts, managing multi-channel campaigns and supporting event execution. My work combined creative development, digital strategy, donor communications and on-site event coordination.

Results:

  • Successful execution of multiple fundraising campaigns throughout the year

  • Funds raised to support critical programs across heart care, autism services, cancer treatment and pediatric care

Impact

Through strategic storytelling, targeted communications and well-executed events, I helped the PMC Foundation strengthen its connection with donors and the community. These efforts directly contributed to raising funds that support life-changing care and services, reinforcing the Foundation’s role as a vital partner in advancing healthcare in the region.

Strategy & Execution

  • I developed compelling, mission-driven content to connect donors with impact, including:

    • Social media graphics and campaign content

    • Scriptwriting and coordination for video shoots featuring patient stories and program impact

    • Visual storytelling that highlighted real outcomes across service lines

    These efforts were designed to humanize giving and clearly demonstrate how donations directly support patients and families.

  • I managed donor communications through a centralized CRM system, ensuring consistent and targeted outreach:

    • Built and segmented email campaigns for different donor audiences

    • Created regular email newsletters and fundraising appeals

    • Tracked engagement and maintained accurate donor records

    This approach improved communication consistency and helped nurture long-term donor relationships.

  • To complement digital efforts, I created print materials that supported fundraising initiatives, including:

    • Direct mail appeals

    • Campaign collateral for specific service lines (heart, cancer, autism, pediatrics)

    • Donor-facing materials that reinforced brand consistency and impact messaging

  • I supported year-round campaigns benefiting multiple areas, including:

    • Heart & Vascular Institute

    • Appalachian Valley Autism (AVA) Center

    • Lawson Cancer Center

    • Mettu Children’s Hospital

    Each campaign required tailored messaging, creative assets and strategic timing to maximize engagement and donations.

  • I played a key role in planning, promoting, and executing major fundraising events, including:

    • Speak from the Heart Gala (AVA Center)

    • Heart of the Fairway Golf Tournament (Heart & Vascular Institute)

    • Colors of Courage 5K (Lawson Cancer Center)

    • Donor appreciation dinners (Mettu Children’s Hospital)

    My responsibilities included marketing promotion, content creation, event branding and on-site coordination to ensure a seamless and engaging experience for attendees.

  • I supported high-level engagements tied to grant funding and community partnerships by:

    • Coordinating visits and events involving government officials

    • Assisting with communications related to grant implementation

    • Ensuring a professional and mission-focused presentation of the Foundation’s work
